What is a simple management tool that aids in decision-making and decision making?

A decision matrix is an easy but powerful tool to aid managers in making informed decisions. It allows them to think through all possible options.

A decision matrix is a way to organize alternatives into rows and columns. This allows you to easily see how each choice affects others.

We have four options in this example. They are represented by the boxes to the left of the matrix. Each box represents an option. The top row depicts the current status quo, while the bottom row represents what would happen if no action was taken.

The middle column displays the impact of selecting Option 1. In this example, it would lead to an increase in sales of between $2 million and $3 million.

The next two columns show the effects of choosing Options 2 and 3. These are good changes, they increase sales by $1million or $500,000. But, they also have some negative consequences. Option 2, for example, increases the cost by $100 000 while Option 3 decreases profits by $200 000.

Finally, the last column shows the results of choosing Option 4. This involves decreasing sales by $1 million.

The best thing about using a decision matrix is that you don't need to remember which numbers go where. The best thing about a decision matrix is that you can simply look at the cells, and immediately know whether one option is better or not.

This is because your matrix has already done the hard work. Simply compare the numbers within the cells.

Here's an example showing how you might use a Decision Matrix in your business.

It is up to you to decide whether to spend more money on advertising. If you do, you'll be able to increase your revenue by $5 thousand per month. You'll also have additional expenses up to $10,000.

By looking at the cell just below "Advertising", the net result can be calculated as $15 thousand. Advertising is more valuable than its costs.

How To

What are the 5S for the workplace?

Your workplace will be more efficient if you organize it properly. An organized workspace, clean desk and tidy room will make everyone more productive. The five S’s (Sort. Shine. Sweep. Separate. and Store) all work together to ensure that every inch is utilized efficiently and effectively. This session will take you through each step and show you how they can fit into any environment.

  1. Sort. You can get rid of all papers and clutter, so you don’t waste time looking for what you need. You need to put your things where you use them the most. Keep it near the spot where you most often refer to it. You should also consider whether you really need to keep something around -- if it doesn't serve a useful function, get rid of it!
  2. Shine. Get rid of anything that could potentially cause damage or harm to others. Find a safe way to store pens that you don't want anyone else to see. You might consider investing in a pen holder. This is a smart investment since you won't have to lose any pens.
  3. Sweep. To prevent dirt buildup on furniture and other items, clean them regularly. To keep surfaces as clean as you can, invest in dusting equipment. You can also set aside an area to sweep and dust in order to keep your workstation clean.
  4. Separate. Separating your trash into different bins will save you time when you need to dispose of it. Trash cans are placed in strategic locations throughout the office so you can quickly dispose of garbage without having to search for it. You can take advantage of this location and place trash bags near each bin to make it easy to find what you are looking for.
